Also, this controller card caused many other problems besides this -At first it wouldn;t work until I disabled the raid in the BIOS (I'm guessing they were conflicting.. Mine was fresh, but his was about 5 years old, and after deleting the 800 some extra crap, his computer is running almost like new.
